A story of great coffee & nostalgia. In 1908 Angelo and Concetta Brizzolari opened an Ice Cream Parlour in Dalton-in-Furness, little did they know at this time that their business would span decades and hold a special place in many local hearts. In 2018, 110 years and 2 generations later their Granddaughter, Hazel and her Husband, Keith, decided it was time for retirement. With heavy hearts the iconic ‘Brizzolaris’ closure was announced and 52A Market Street was sold to Emma-lea Dalton and her family. “As the new owner of 52A Market Street, I had originally purchased the property for office space. However, having been born and raised in Dalton-in-Furness I understood the history of the building and felt taking this away would be a huge loss. I therefore spoke with Hazel and Keith with regards to my plans to restore the building whilst also honouring its heritage… And just like that, 2 families came together.” After 18 months of renovation Brizzolaris reopened on 05th December 2021, originally opened as an Italian Coffee Bar, serving Coffee, Cake and, of course, Ice Cream, we are now proud to offer Breakfast and Lunch too.
